ABSTRACT: High-efficiency Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diodes (UVLEDs) have attracted
great attention in recent decades due to their promising applications in many fields. Such
solid-state light sources are expected to replace the traditional fluorescent and incandescent
lamps from the viewpoint of energy saving. Furthermore, UVLED are useful for application
in the medical and biochemical fields, and the purification of the environment. In this paper,
we provide an overview of research developments of UVLED. We calculate the physical and
optical properties for the structure of UVLED with 3 multi-quantum wells of iAlyGa1-yN
barrier - iAl0.15Ga0.85N QW - iAlyGa1-yN barrier by the SiLENSe software. This UVLED is
emitted the wavelength of 330nm for sterilization.
